Product Description

Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP) for Construction

Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) are thin pieces of insulation uniquely designed to take up very little space. They consist of porous core materials encased in a gas-tight foil outer material. Once sealed, a vacuum is created that offers thermal resistance up to 20x more effective than traditional insulation materials.

Key Features & Benefits

VIP insulation offers significant benefits for designers. In new build projects, it enables minimal thresholds while maintaining required U-values. The thin profile reduces construction costs and increases design flexibility. In renovation, it allows for high-efficiency upgrades without the need to adapt windows or rooflight heights.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a vacuum slow down heat transfer?
By removing air molecules, we eliminate conduction and convection. Conduction requires molecule-to-molecule contact, and convection requires moving air currents. In a vacuum, these mechanisms nearly stop, leaving only radiation as a heat transfer mode.
Can VIP panels be cut or drilled on site?
No. The high barrier film must remain intact. If punctured, air enters and thermal conductivity rises significantly. Panels must be ordered to size and cannot be modified via cutting or doweling.
Are curved vacuum insulation panels possible?
Thin panels can be bent into cylindrical forms within limits. While regular panels cannot handle complex spherical shapes, new technologies allow for more complex geometry and even holes in certain configurations.
What are the operating temperature limits?
The core can sustain up to 900°C, but the outer barrier film is limited to 80°C. Permanent exposure above 40-50°C may increase gas permeability, affecting long-term vacuum life.
Are these panels sensitive to humidity?
Short-term exposure is fine, but long-term high humidity (especially with heat) should be avoided. Installing humidity barriers is recommended to keep the panels dry.
What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ for Vacuum Insulation Panels is 500 square meters. We support growth for small clients, but full container loads are suggested for better shipping cost efficiency.
